WISeKey offers its Secure Social Network Platform HighTrusted.com to International Organizations

WISeKey offers its Secure Social Network Platform HighTrusted.com
to International Organizations and NGOs to help them to execute their activities using WISekey technologies .

Hightrusted.com: WISeKey, so far known in the industry for securing e-transactions, evoting, national IDs, Web sites and Digital Identities is also operating a very successful Social Network Platform with the name Hightrusted.com. This Social Network Platform has developed several projects with Publicis Life, Technology Parks, the Digital Solidarity Fund, The Clinton Global Initiative, the World Trade Center, The International Organization for Migrations, etc allowing them to operate a low cost Social Network Infrastructure secure and hosted by WISekey at our secure bunker in Geneva.
Now WISekey is extending the use of HighTrusted.com to International Organizations and NGOs operating in areas such as disaster relief operations, early warning systems for Tsunamis, virus outbreaks and any other alert situation that it may be helpful to use Social Networking in advance of emergencies, during emergencies, and during rebuilding and restoration afterwards. The cooperation model is based on a Private Public Partnership allowing WISekey to work with them at very low cost of operation. The operation and development of the HighTrusted Social Network for International Organizations is based on a cost recovery business model allowing these organizations to operate the Social Network at no cost subsidized by advertising revenue.
HighTrusted Social Network Platform is already operational with several concrete project such as the partnership with the Global Clinton Initiative to build the HighTrusted Social Network by providing the necessary identity management and transaction platform to enable a new approach of cash flow management to reduce operations costs, intermediaries and other sources which result in the loss of aid, remittances and micro-credit initiatives, as well as to increase the awareness and control capability of those providing the funds. With this project WISeKey, in cooperation with the OISTE Foundation, is working to help reduce the gap between the new Digital Identification Divide in less developed countries and emerging economies by creating the infrastructure that will make a de-facto global digital identity community of 1 billion digital identity users while providing equitable and meaningful access to digital information technology.
Hightrusted.com is a High Trusted Social Network Platform developed by WISekey which includes a high-level, digital identity verification solution, designed specifically to authenticate that persons are who they say they are, to verify the user's identity and to provide a safer virtual environment for people to network in. The exclusive social network is designed for those who require only to discuss with authenticated networkers. HighTrusted allows members to interact more effectively with people sharing their profiles. In order to maintain the selection and exclusivity of the social network, strict criteria of selection and admittance are required.
HighTrusted policy is based on the fact that social networking has encouraged people to openly communicate and share personal information with strangers and the phenomenal exponential growth in this activity has opened up endless risk. Multitudes of people have become victims of having their 'identity' stolen for financial and social scams. Technology must evolve to provide a safer virtual world, for protection and peace-of-mind to all users and their trustees. WISeKey has achieved this by providing a secure solution - CertifyID - which can put an extra layer into the social networking infrastructures through the implementation of back-end validation procedures enabling the verification of age and identity through the users’ real-world social networks that can provide for such verifications to take place before joining and using a 'network'.

Over 500 Top Leaders to Gather in WEF Cancun, Mexico

Over 500 Top Leaders to Gather in WEF Cancun, Mexico

Special to ag-IP-news Agency

MEXICO CITY - The World Economic Forum (WEF) released on April 9, 2008 more details during a press conference on the eve of its regional meeting in Latin America.

The World Economic Forum on Latin America, scheduled to take place in Cancún, Mexico, April 15 - 16, 2008, will bring together over 500 top global leaders from business, politics, government, academia, civil society and the media from 46 countries.

Under the theme “Securing a Place in an Uncertain Economic Landscape”, the meeting will be co-hosted by the Government of Mexico under the patronage of President Felipe Calderón, who will be participating in the event.

The meeting in Mexico will focus on discovering and highlighting business opportunities brought about by the successful execution of a priority reform agenda.

A globally attuned agenda that secures Latin America’s place in a shifting global landscape will be built around five core pillars:

• Global Trends and Economic Shifts
• Asia and Latin America
• Merging Business and the Environment
• Growth through Critical Investments
• Enhancing Innovation in Business and Social Issues

"Mexico has changed, economically, politically, and socially. Our country's economic stability is patently clear in many indicators; our democracy and political plurality is stronger than ever; but above all, we have legal instruments that lend absolute certainty to business relationships,” CEO ProMéxico Bruno Ferrari said.

“Mexico's work force is young and well-trained. We have a logistical platform and outstanding geographic location, with access to 44 countries through trade agreements and treaties that bring us closer to a market of one billion potential consumers,” he added.

“Mexican President Felipe Calderón has said that this country is an opportunity for all who want to invest, because we are determined to diversify, and because we want 'more of Mexico in the world, and more of the world in Mexico,” Ferrari continued.

“Mexico is committed to diversifying opportunities for investment and trade with the entire world, but particularly with Latin America, given our geographic and cultural proximity,” Mexico’s Minister of Economy Eduardo Sojo noted.

“Mexico aspires to be a global leader in logistics and connectivity, and the World Economic Forum in Latin America is an invaluable platform for promoting this effort and bringing concrete, short-tem results to the entire region,” Sojo pointed out.

“Latin America is closing an important cycle of five years with annual GDP growth of over 5% and GDP per capita growth of over 3% per annum. This has allowed the region to reduce poverty, but clearly much more is needed,” Head of Latin America and Global Leadership Fellow, World Economic Forum Emilio Lozoya Austin stated.

“To continue these positive trends, the region needs to deepen its intercontinental ties and work more on different areas to address the slow regional interaction process,” he highlighted.

“Maintaining internal peace, advancing institutional reforms, investing more in education, health and infrastructure, as well as supporting the productive sector rather than focusing on ideologies seem to be the main priorities for the regional leaders in the context of the uncertain global economic landscape,” Austin concluded.

- a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery
- development of a practical and effective implementation programme

Supporter companies will either implement anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices based on these Principles or use them to benchmark and improve their existing programmes to achieve the objectives of the Principles.

Cancún, Mexico, 15-16 April 2008

Securing a Place in an Uncertain Economic Landscape

en Español

Cancun, Mexico

The region just concluded a long period of sustained 5%+ economic growth, booming capital markets and unusually solid fundamentals. The short-term impact of a US recession, and the long-term impact of a shift in the global power equation, however, are not clear and there are many important reforms that are not taking place or taking place too slowly.

The meeting in Mexico will focus on discovering and highlighting the business opportunities brought about by the successful execution of a priority reform agenda. A globally attuned agenda that secures Latin America’s place in a shifting global landscape will be built around five core pillars:
a) Global Trends and Economic Shifts
b) Asia and Latin America
c) Merging Business and The Environment
d) Growth through critical investments
e) Enhancing Innovation in Business and in Social Issues

Co-hosted by the Government of Mexico under the patronage of President Felipe Calderón, this top-level gathering will include leaders from business, government, international organizations as well as civil society representatives and regional experts.

WISekey EuroHub project becomes one of the leading projects for the Malaga Valley

In the last years, Malaga has been characterized as having one of the highest growth rates in Spain, situated behind the three great business cities of the country (Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia) in the ranking of Spanish capitals with business interests.

In the last decade the creation of businesses has increased considerably, counting 96,600 businesses in 2004, 22% of the total region. The province of Malaga supports 18% of the GDP of Andalucía and accounts for 28% of the funds which reach Andalucía.

In this sense, it is necessary to emphasize the importance of the Palace of Fairs and Congresses, inaugurated in 2003 and already positioned as a reference of the weekly activity and activity of congresses at a national level. At the cultural level, the city has the Malaga Picasso Museum, one of the three existing in the world dedicated to housing the work of the Malagan painter, and the Center of Contemporary Art, conceived as a dynamic “House of Art”, open to the new tendencies and forms of expression of contemporary art.

This important infrastructure, united with the network of museums and the rich historic-artistic patrimony of the city has converted Malaga into one of the candidate Spanish cities for the European City of Culture for 2016.

To make Malaga a European “Silicon Valley” is not easy but Malaga has the potential for it. Not only does it have a good climate, solvent economy, and an ample playful-cultural offering, but it also has the technological Park of Andalucía and with a dynamic new university capable of reuniting and forming the scholars, technicians, industrialists, information technologists, and professionals of the future.

One of the pillars of economic creation of Malaga and Andalucía is the Technological Park. Since its origin, it was conceived as a technological nucleus of industry and as a scientific, cultural, and recreational environment, capable of enabling synergies and facilitating the exchange of experiences between the distinct agents of innovation. The Technological Park of Andalucía is defined as an environment-friendly business establishment dedicated to processes of innovation of new technologies (R&D) or activities directly related to research or production.

Since its inauguration in 1992, the Technological Park of Andalucía had experienced a great growth until it was converted into a point of reference of R&D, not just for Malaga, but for all of Andalucía. Currently it is home to 375 businesses (telecommunications, electronics, software, advanced services, and environment) that make more than 800 millions of euros annually and an extension of land has been predicted that will permit it to double its capacity to seat companies.

More than 70% of the money made by the technological center comes from businesses related to information technology and communication. Its line of production and research is centered on 4 sectors: technology of mobility, photovoltaic technology, biotechnology or bio-innovation, and the creativity and the creation of our values of innovation.

Another of the pillars of economic creation of the Andalucian city is the university, which in less than 30 years, has been converted into one of the vertices of what is called the “triangular product” of the city, composed also of the airport and the Technological Park. This last point can be found united with the university by a continuous flow of ideas, professionals, and technological advances.

The University of Malaga is recognized by all as an important motor of research and the innovation converting the application of new technologies in the university atmosphere into something fundamental. In this sense, the growth of wireless internet to all the campus should be emphasized, the beginning of the “Virtual Campus”, a program that permits the students to attend some classes online and that harnesses the potential for e-administration.

The new university campus with more than one million square meters of which 214,000 will be reserved for education services, 47,500 to the Scientific Park and enterprises, 23,000 to the high schools and 96,500 to sports zones.

Malaga has technological, economic, and business creations that are currently converting it into one of the most emphasized technological cities in Europe. Nevertheless, although its capacity and its potential have been until now hidden from the rest of the world, Malaga will be converted into a place where numerous professionals exist, tied to the research, the knowledge, the culture, and information and communication technologies that place it as a focus of innovation and technology branding in Europe.
